Reformer Pilates in Shrewsbury
Strength, support and intelligent movement
Reformer Pilates offers a precise, supportive and beautifully effective way to build strength, improve mobility and move with greater confidence.
Why Reformer Pilates?
There's a reason so many people fall in love with the Reformer. It can make movement feel supported and accessible while also providing surprisingly challenging resistance.
Build strength with support
The Reformer's springs provide varying levels of resistance throughout an exercise, helping you build strength with control rather than relying on momentum.
And resistance is only half the story. The springs can also assist movement, giving you support as you explore exercises or ranges of movement that might feel more difficult without it.
Move more freely
The moving carriage allows your body to travel through a generous range of movement while the equipment provides feedback and support.
Over time, Reformer Pilates can help improve mobility and flexibility while developing the strength needed to support that movement.
Work your whole body
A Reformer class is about much more than your core.
You'll push, pull, bend, rotate, balance and stabilise, asking different parts of your body to work together. The result is a whole-body practice that develops strength, coordination and control in ways you'll notice far beyond the studio.
You don't need to have done Mat Pilates before you start Reformer.
You do, however, need to be comfortable moving independently between lying, sitting, kneeling and standing positions and getting on and off the Reformer. If you're managing an injury, significant pain or aren't sure whether a group Reformer class is right for you, please get in touch. We'll be happy to advise you.
