Frequently asked questions, answered

If you can't find the answer you're looking for, you can ask us a question.

  • Yes, we would be happy to give you a telephone or Zoom call to talk through you taking Pilates with us. Simply contact us to arrange this.

  • We suggest if you are new to Pilates and if you are pain, injury and condition-free then that you join our beginners mat course, beginner reformer or book in a 1:1 session

  • We ask you to chat with us to review your health history and reasons for wanting to take Pilates to ensure that you start taking Pilates most appropriately. If you are rehabilitating, we are happy to work alongside your healthcare professionals. Get in touch

  • We want for you to be in a safe and appropriate environment taking Pilates, therefore, contact us and we can arrange a call to see where is best for you to start.

  • We have a 24 hour cancellation policy on all classes and sessions. Please note all classes, memberships and sessions have restrictions on the number of uses, therefore, classes must adhere to these restrictions.

  • We recommend you take classes and sessions at least once week, ideally the same day and time each week. Why? This is because to create a new habit and routine you need to make it as easy and simple as possible, the same session each week allows you to start embedding in a new habit and set yourself up for success.

  • What’s the difference between a membership and a package?

Our memberships are for our studio mat classes and online classes. The membership gives you one class per week, taken on the same day and time each week, payments are spread over the year during the term class timetable. Packages are in place for all of our equipment and reformer classes, and our pregnancy and postnatal classes are offered as a course of between 6 to 7 weeks.

  • With any endeavour consistency is the key, when something is consistent it becomes a habit and you really notice the benefits. After all, practice makes progress. This is why Joseph Pilates famously said:

"In 10 sessions you'll feel the difference, in 20 sessions you'll see the difference, and in 30 sessions you'll have a whole new body".

  • We run classes during the school terms and offer a reduced timetable outside of these terms. Membership packages include term time classes only.

  • Simply wear something that allows you to move freely and that you feel comfortable in. Layers are always a good idea so that you feel warm to begin and can take layers off as needed. Shoes are not required as Pilates is done in socks, we suggest grip socks, especially on the equipment.

  • Just yourself!  We are a fully equipped Pilates studio so everything is provided for your use throughout your class, if you would prefer to use your own that's fine by us.  We want you to enjoy the tranquil space we have created and ask you to clean down all mats and equipment used in class leaving it ready for the next person.

  • We can be found on Google.

Our address is The Studio, 11 The Courthouse, SY3 8QJ.

Head towards Theatre Severn, opposite Theatre Severn you will see Whitehorse Passage, keep walking up until you see Alma street on your right, the driveway to the studio is opposite - next to the grey curved clad wall. Walk up the narrow driveway and the studio is at the end where you’ll see a pink illuminated sign.

Note: There may be a car parked in front of the door, but if you see a building with grey wooden cladding, you’ve found us!

  • Ample parking is available at the nearby Frankwell car park, just a few minutes walk from the studio. Parking is free after 6 pm. If you are attending the studio for a one-to-one, you can park outside the studio.

  • We are a fully equipped studio and use all of Joseph Pilates’ original apparatus. We have four reformers, a tower bar, a chair, and a ladder barrel, and use these in One-to-Ones and our Pilates circuits classes.

  • Yay for you! If you're on holiday but boooo if you're ill!  So long as you cancel within 24 hours, you can book an alternative class. We ask that you swap no more than 1 class per month.
