Regulated Strength
Pilates & the Nervous System
In this 3-hour workshop with Lauren, we’ll focus on something that comes up a lot in class — feeling stronger, but still holding tension. You might recognise it; things are improving, you’re more aware, but you still find yourself gripping in your shoulders, jaw, hips… or just feeling more tired than you expect.
How the nervous system organises movement has a lot to do with this. Not in a complicated or overly technical way — just in the sense that some days your body feels clear and responsive, and other days everything feels that bit harder.
This workshop is about understanding that through movement, and making small changes that actually shift how things feel.
We’ll use Pilates to explore how breath, alignment and support work together, and how that can help you:
move with less effort
feel more stable
reduce unnecessary tension
and feel more confident in your body, especially on the days that are a bit more demanding
It’s not about relaxing more, or working harder. More about finding a way of moving that feels organised, steady and reliable.
Everything is practical and movement-based — no long explanations, just time to feel the difference and understand what’s useful for you.
